Title posted near end of blog

As I started off this week, I came upon a common passage of Scripture and wondered why? Why would God lead me to such a common verse. Then, it hit me.

I’ve told my students this before, and it’s so true. The Bible is the “living” Word of God. It speaks to us; we just have to listen. Today, as I read this popular passage, I listened to see what God was trying to tell me. And I found out that there is something more, something deeper in this passage today to focus on.

Let’s start with the passage from the Gospel of Mark:

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” – Mark 1:9-11

While, there are many teachings out of this passage, I feel God leading me to one simple message today. God speaks of Jesus as His Son, the person with whom He is well pleased.

Wow, wouldn’t it be great to hear God say that about you?

The message today can be summed up in the title of this blog:

Title: What would God say about you?

or What does God say about you? Is He pleased with you? If not, why not? And what can you do today to change His attitude toward you?

God loves you - just the way you are. But that doesn’t mean He loves your actions. Make a change today and see if there is something you can do to make sure that God is pleased with all of you.
