Life is like a box of chocolates

A wise man once said “Life is like a box of chocolates.” Do you know what Forrest Gump meant? “You never know what you’re gonna get.” But do you understand the deeper truth in this quote?

We may never know – we may never understand everything that is going on in our life.

Recently, a friend was telling me about being obedient. Although this person sometimes struggles with following the Lord in everything they do, everybody struggles at times. In fact, I’m willing to vouch that many people don’t follow the Lord in many aspects of their lives. But why?

Is it that we just don’t understand? Is it because we don’t know what the Lord is telling us to do? Or is it because we try to over-analyze everything in our lives?

Proverbs 3:5 states:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Do we EVER do this? Do we TRUST in the Lord? Or do we try to “lean on our own understanding?”

I think the answer is obviuos. The question though is: WHEN will we start trusting in the Lord with ALL our heart? What will it take to for you to start trusting in Him?

Have you prayed today for help in trusting the Lord? Will you pray today for help in trusting in Him?
