Thank God!

“O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things…to the poor, O Lord, you are a refuge from the storm. To the needy in distress, you are a shelter from the rain and the heat.” – Isaiah 25:1,4

The Psalms are full of praise and adoration from David and others about the glorious wonders and acts of God. But Isaiah and other books also speak of the wondrous love and protection afforded by God to those who seek Him.

Are you having trouble in your life? Does everything seem to be falling down around you, closing you in? Maybe you need to step back for a moment and regroup.

Take time for “first things first.” Praise God! Yes, I said praise God first during your hard times. Although it’s hard, very hard…ok, extremely hard at first to praise God during the storm, it is truly what needs done. Thank God for what He has done. Some people go so far as to say “it could be worse.” That’s normally true. However, it doesn’t seem like it could get any worse when you are on the bottom.

Yet, praise God, for He is faithful and true. He has mighty plans for each of us, but first we must follow and obey Him. He will provide all that we “need.”

Watch out now – “need” is a four-letter word. Many people use the word “need” when they really mean “want.” So I ask you, do you really NEED anything, or do you just want an easier life? Through these hard times, we will grow to have more faith and confidence that God can carry us through. Through the storms, we will be washed clean and be able to sprout new growth.

God is our refuge, our almighty Saviour. Allow Him to save you today from your storm. Take a leap of faith amidst all your suffering and Thank Him for being there for you.
