First celebrated in New York City on Sept. 5, 1882, Labor Day official recognizes the working man (and woman). So what’s so special about this day? Well, it’s a celebration that we actually are working.
How many days out of the week do you complain about your horrible job? Consider this, there are many people, especially in today’s economy that are without a job. So take time today and thank God for the job that you do have! And beyond that, take pride in your job (not in that you get selfish or egotistical – but do your job well!)
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31
I love that no matter what the circumstance, God’s little instruction book (the Bible), guides us in everything we do in life (even our work life).
So as you celebrate Labor Day today, thank God for what He’s doing in your life, and for the blessings that you sometimes consider misfortunes (that ‘horrible‘ job you have).
