got a bone to pick?

Days get so hectic that sometimes we just don’t take time to relax and forget about things. But more so than that, during these hectic days, we sometimes blame others for things that they didn’t even mean to do.

Thank God I’m alive!

Yesterday, during a long 6.5 hour drive (which normally takes 5-5.5 hours), I realized once again the importance of life. During my drive, I saw probably 5 bad accidents being cleaned up. You may have heard about or seen the show “I shouldn’t be alive.” Well, during my drive yesterday, I was almost in a horrible traffic accident. Continue reading

now is the time

God has overlooked the things in the past. However, this is only but history. It is the future that God is concerned about. No matter what you may have done in your past, all is forgiven if you come to God and repent (meaning turn away from your past ways). Continue reading

The Son of God – the appointed one

This morning I had the opportunity to spend some time in the Greek Testament studying Romans 1. What I found was interesting as it relates to who Jesus is.

the gospel He promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding His Son, who as to His earthly life[a] was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power[b] by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through Him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from[c] faith for His name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

Followin’ God

As I ponder the end of the ages and the return of Jesus Christ, I am reminded that not only do we finally get to see Jesus face to face, spend eternity in Heaven, and so many other great and wonderful things, there is still ONE MORE THING:

Paul tells the members in the church at Philippi:

And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)…

the love of God

The love of God surpasses ALL understanding.

Romans 5:5-8 God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. . . . But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. P.R.A.Y.

It seems as if Job had given up…. He implies that God is not honoring His side of the bargain. But if we truly think about what is going on, it reminds me of the Amy Grant song: Better than a Hallelujah. She sings that, in a way, our miseries cried out to God actually honor Him, because we are still recognizing that He alone is soveriegn and He alone has the power to fix things. Continue reading
