Coincidence, I think Not!

I continue to be amazed by God! Tonight, the youth lesson was about Jesus’ power of Salvation & how we should tell our lost friends about Him so they can have eternal life. We sang “By His Wounds” THEN…in big church, we sang “Nothing but the blood of Jesus,” & the pastor reminded us to tell our friends about Jesus. I’m famous for the line: “If it’s repeated in the Bible, it MUST be really important!” Then I must ask, if TWO sermons, by different people are repeated the SAME night in church, ISN’T THAT MESSAGE REALLY IMPORTANT ALSO?

“Why”

Why is it important to tell others about your faith? Simply put, I believe that John in the book of Revelation says it best:

Revelation 20:12-15

“I saw the dead, the great, and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened…the book of life….

If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.”

Who is God, really?

We might not be able to describe Who God is, BUT, the best part is we can rely on Him to strengthen us, to love us, and most importantly to SAVE US. We are doomed to a fateful place that we deserve, and it’s not Heaven. However, God loved us so much that He WILLINGLY gave us His son to die a gruesome death that became a beautiful episode that serves to remind us daily that we can have eternal life in Heaven. But at a great price. Continue reading

Who you followin?

John the Baptist was a famous man in his days. Many people thought he was the Messiah. Others thought he might be a prophet. Others didn’t care, they just knew he was very spiritual and they looked up to him as a mentor. In fact, even these men were called “disciples.” Continue reading

However, now it has become famous with the latest TV show “The Biggest Loser.” Focused on how much weight a person can lose through exercise and diet, the Biggest Loser TV show has made many people famous as they lose 30, 40, and even over 50% of their body weight (up to 160 lbs or more!). a message from beyond the grave

We often hear stories from people concerning the paranormal. We hear of near-death experiences when people describe a room they visit, or a hallway they walk through that, when described, has attributes we may think of Heaven having: a bright light, a peace, a comfort that only comes from beyond this life. Continue reading

a song…

I love contemporary Christian songs (don’t get me wrong – Hymns are good too).
But one got in my head today as I read through the book of Psalms, as I was reminded how neat it is that a lot of the songs we sing are based directly from Scripture. Continue reading

“I am a Christian…”

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’
I’m not shouting – I’m clean livin’
I’m whispering “I was lost,
Now I’m found, and forgiven.” Continue reading

Who’s team you on?

When I moved to Alabama in 1986, the first thing my neighborhood kids asked me was “Are you an Alabama or an Auburn fan?” Today, I still vividly remember that question. They didn’t ask me my name or where I was from, just what team I was rooting for. As someone that didn’t follow Alabama football, I couldn’t make an intelligent decision at the time.
