If we don’t forgive, then God won’t forgive us!

Let’s just assume that Jesus could just stop by and visit you on any single day. He just casually walked up to your front door and rang the bell. Or He just happened to walk up the stairs of your house and knocked on your bedroom door. You respond by opening the door, and then what?

John and Jane were not a very religious couple but tried their best; they only went to church once a year. As they were leaving the church, the minister said, “John, it sure would be nice to see you and Jane here more than once a year” “I know,” replied John, “But, we’re very busy people, leading active lives but at least we keep the Ten Commandments”.

Today, as I attempted to get my stuff done, I asked God what I should blog about. The answer? Are you getting “the right” stuff done?

This passage meant a lot to me yesterday as I went through work, realizing that sometimes it is just hard doing “the right thing.” I thought maybe some others of you needed to hear the same message I did, so simply put, there is no commentary here…

Next time you wonder why the church may not be growing, don’t point to those people who have left, but think inwardly about what YOU can do to be a better follower of God. How can we show God’s love through us? How can we help God grow our church?

Wouldn’t it be great if we could just “see” God as He walks by us? We read about John (the Baptist):

Recently an adult (we’ll call “Bill”) confessed to me that he was having trouble forgiving someone (we’ll call “Joe”). We talked for some time about the situation and Bill knew that he was wrong not to forgive Joe, but Bill was really struggling with what Joe did and just couldn’t forgive him.
