the Holy Spirit

Why doesn’t the Holy Spirit come upon us more often?

This is a great question that I think a good many Christians ask when attempting to grow in their Christian faith.

Other relevant questions include:
Why don’t I feel closer to God?
What am I doing that is holding me back?
Why isn’t my church growing?

separation anxiety

Lately I’ve spoken at length of sin. But let’s discuss briefly what sin does and doesn’t do to us:

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? – Romans 8:35

God created choice

4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. . . .
the LORD God made the earth and the heavens- . . . the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.  8 Now [...]

Life is worthless when…

this is NOT intended to imply that ALL of the healthcare reform proposals are bad. We do, in fact, need healthcare reform. Be cautious of what you read, as in many cases, the proponents of such reforms will only highlight the positives (which do exist), but fail to give you the whole story. Read the entire bill for your own edification.

Live with sin no more!

How can we who died to sin still live in it? – Romans 6:2

After we have become a child of God, we are to no longer be held captive to sin.

the freedom of God’s grace

Having problems in your daily walk? Paul, a great servant and disciple of our Lord God, gave us some great advice in the book of Romans:

“Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin….”
