Let’s talk Commandments…
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to “honor thy father and thy mother,” she asked, “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our … Continue reading

a BIG step…
I want to THANK Kimberly for her obedience to the Lord, obeying His commands, which resulted in her living a long life, and also led to my Salvation. Without her I would be nothing, have nothing, and be lost. So I want to say Thanks from the bottom of my heart and soul for helping to lead me to Christ! I love you sweetie!

FREEDOM – at last
Many American speak of “freedom.” After all – isn’t that what our wonderful country was founded on?
I believe so! Interestingly, this morning I found a passage of Scripture that altered my view of freedom . . .

Jonah, the whale, and ____
Many of you know the story of Jonah and the whale, but for any that don’t, here’s a quick summary:
Jonah 1:1-3 And the Word of Jehovah came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their evil has come up before Me. But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of Jehovah. And he went down to Joppa. And he found a ship going to Tarshish. And he gave its fare, and went down into it, in order to go with them to Tarshish, away from the sight of Jehovah.

Sometimes it hurts…to know you’re wrong
We must all remember, however, that despite each of our own mistakes, we are still human. We must love each other as a person. We may not like the decisions that each of us make, but each person is still a child of God. God forgave us while we were yet sinners. He will forgive you for your mistakes and forgive me of mine.
He loves each and every one of us despite our failures. And…He is waiting for you to come home and come back to His direction and seek His Will in your life.

The Christmas Story – Part Thirteen
The Shepherds came to know Jesus, THE SAVIOR born into our world, and then the Bible clearly tells us that they returned to their flock, glorified and praised God! That’s what we need to remember today, on Christmas day. Glorify and Praise God for the perfect gift – a Savior – Jesus Christ.

The Christmas Story – Part Twelve
There is another aspect that I want to ponder also. It is the name that the angel gives Jesus: Immanuel. As most of us know, there are many many names that we have given to Jesus. It is a simple way to better describe them. In fact, if you consider all the details, you will realize that YOU too have many names. For example, my name is James, but also brother, son, child, “daddy,” and in the past I have been called Jaime (French class), Gaston (Spanish Class), Woofer (Band nickname), Jimmy (nickname), Wolfman (highschool nickname), and currently Youth Pastor, and during the past 3 weeks during some out-of-town training “Reverend.” Of course none of these FULLY explain who I am, but they all shed light on different characteristics of who I am.
The Christmas Story – Part Eleven
57 …it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. … his mother spoke up and said, “…He is to be called John.”
61 They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who has that name.” 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” 64

The Christmas Story – Part Nine
The angel told Mary she would conceive a baby to be known as Savior of the world:
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.” Continue reading
